MYSTERY/THRILLERS ARE OUR CARDIO

It might sound weird, but I appreciate my palpable responses to suspenseful passages as I’m writing. Electrical impulses fire and adrenalin surges when my characters are in peril or upset. I feel what the characters feel, which allows me to access the just-right descriptions and tone.

I’ve been working on final chapters of 400-Foot Drop that include tension and just plain panic. And it’s as fun as laughing at humorous scenes.

I have an agent that’s interested in reading the entire manuscript, which, in the publishing world, is a big deal. Sometimes, lukewarm agents request the first 50 pages and synopsis, then request more pages if they like what they read. But this is the whole enchilada.

Mysteries and romance are most popular with adults nowadays. Fantasy fiction is popular with young people. And YA fiction that can cross over to the adult audience makes 400-Foot Drop even more appealing.
